Self-care reminders are our motivators to stay on track towards our values and what’s important to our well-being. To start, get your journal and write 1 to 8 down the page. Begin with your opening statement, here is a technique to try:
“To maintain consistency in offering love and care for others, I give myself permission to”….
Prioritise taking care for myself that feels authentic.
Ask for help from others without feeling as though I am imposing, intruding or being a nuisance.
Protect my space, such as family, friends, work colleagues when I need my personal silent time to nurture and nourish my mind, spirit and heart by setting boundaries that feel aligned to my truth.
Let go of perfectionism and embrace all of who I am and what I give to the world because I am enough just as I am.
Be courageous to say no to others when it feels wrong, in body, heart and mind.
Celebrate all what I have done, who I am as a person, my wisdom, love, passions, friendships, my work, what I believe in, my victories and challenges, acknowledging every experience is for my highest growth.
Be kind to myself each moment, and take that energy into the world, offering a gentle reminder to myself and others that we are all worthy of love, belonging, being who we are.
Write your own self-care statement, you can begin with: “I acknowledge, or, I embrace, xxxxxxx…………………….(complete the sentence, as a mantra statement) If you’re finding it difficult to begin, start with a couple of words as opening statements, then in your own time create your own mantra, and keep it with you as your ‘go to’ self-care positive statement motivator.
