Rock Solid Confidence – 3 Ways To Silence Your Inner Critic

Rock Solid Confidence - 3 Ways To Silence Your Inner Critic

⭐ Give Your Inner Critic A Name

We need some distance from our inner critic, particularly when it’s very loud and takes over, obscures clarity and keeps us stuck. One method to silence it, is to give it a name. This can be anything that resonates with you. So for example, let’s say you’ve named it, when your critic shows up, say “Oh here comes (name)” breathe and then immediately you will detach yourself from it and become the watcher behind the thoughts, behind the inner critic.

⭐ Be Kind To Yourself

Kindness is the ultimate antidote to fear. When you notice your inner critic emerges, breathe, and give yourself a does of loving energy of kindness and compassion. Know your worthiness, your gifts, your talents, your qualities. To activate kind energy, breathe and gently place one hand on your heart and one hand on your belly and quietly repeat this mantra “I am loving, I am worthy, I can do this and I am safe.”

⭐ Understand The Intention

Our inner critic, if we allow it to lead, we follow fearfully, or it sits in the background silenced while we stand in our truth, leading the way from a place of calm, worthy and whole. Becoming curious, understand it’s intention for trying to protect you from uncomfortable emotions or humiliation – of not feeling good enough is not helpful for your personal growth. To get to know it intimately, when it arises, ask ‘What is your intention in this moment? wait, then breathe and say ‘It’s okay, I’ve got this, I can do this, you can sit quietly behind me while I do my thing.” As you practice this, you will empower your trust muscle.
