Conscious Confidence: How To Transform Your Inner Critic Into Inner Wisdom

Conscious Confidence: How To Transform Your Inner Critic Into Inner Wisdom

Our strong inner critic, takes charge of how we view ourselves and the world when we are consumed and not aware of how we interact daily with it. The good news is, there’s an opportunity to be in control of it.

Let’s take a look at a few ideas to it down:

✨ Transform Your Interaction

Often when the inner critic comes up, we tend to push it down so it goes away. The feelings associated with what we’re telling ourselves – are often so depleting and too hard to deal with. Try something different next time, firstly by acknowledging that you are not your thoughts, recognise it’s a story you are yourself and only based on perception, not reality.

Try this, imagine the inner critic in front of you, then rewrite the story by reframing a narrative, with more balance and offers scope for a different perspective.

✨ Dial Down The Comparison Habit

Comparing yourself to others only causes disconnection from yourself and exacerbates trust issues. To move from comparing yourself, think of your inner strengths, gifts and talents and start to focus on developing self-acceptance.

Ask a good friend what they see in you that they like, this kick starts clarity around your gifts and strengths. Write down all the qualities, strengths and add in your uniqueness – remember, we all have something that makes us special. Take a few breaths to calm your nervous system before you begin writing and allow your thoughts to flow through you.

✨ Build Your Inner Alley With Compassion & Kindness

Replace criticism with encouragement. You can do this by showing compassion and kindness to yourself. Think of what you’d say to a good friend, then turn that energy of compassion towards you. Start by saying a mantra, eg: “I am human, I am doing my best in this situation.”

Enjoy your new inner wisdom
