Self-love is foundational of all loves because it starts from oneself. How do we bring more self-love each day? The big one is to practice self-acceptance, do this by reviewing your gifts, talents and strengths. Reflect on previous experiences that brought you joy. Quietening your inner-critic is key to developing self-acceptance. One way is to practice witnessing your thoughts, by enquiring and reframing a more positive perspective.
If you haven’t already, start a gratitude ritual. The best time is in the morning and just before you go to bed. It is as simple as journaling or saying it. Keep it very light and easy, an example is: “I am grateful for my warm cozy bed, providing me with nourishing sleep” another one, “I am grateful for the air I breathe, my heart, my body”, etc. These are some ideas to get started.
Being grateful allows you to stay present, appreciate what you already have, nurture your world with love and care and connect more with your truth.
Doing what we love, is what we all want. Imagine being able to get up everyday knowing you’ll spend your day doing what lights you up!. Okay, so most of us don’t have that love experience in our day job. What if you could find your joy in other activities that light up your heart and soul?
The key is to start recognising what makes your heart skip a beat, what makes you feel aliveness within. Start this way – write those moments down as a record to reflect upon – make time to do what brings you joy and soon you’ll find you’re doing what you love.
