5 Soul Nourishing Nighttime Rituals For Sumptuous Sleep

A nourishing bedtime ritual is as important for your self-care as a morning ritual. I light up a gorgeous essential oil candle in the evening. I describe it as my go to ritual calming signature style. Below are a few tips to help you wind down into restful sleep.

✨ Take a warm shower or bath

I love this ritual. I tend to jump in the shower at night. I find it relaxes my mind body and soul and I feel cleansed and rejuvenated after my night time shower ritual. Before you bath or shower, you may want to say a mantra ‘I embrace this moment to cleanse and release anything I no longer need, bringing me back to my centre”

✨ Meditate for 5 to 10 minutes

Sit quietly, breathing inhaling and exhaling to get into a calm state, then gently allow yourself to sit in silence. Bring your attention back to your bodily sensations when you find your mind wandering into thoughts. Notice your breath and body and embrace the experience in stillness. Surrender in the moment.

✨ Do some yoga stretches

Stretching before bedtime, is an easy way to wind down and release any tension you might be holding onto from your day. Quick ones, drop your shoulders away from your ears and do a few shoulder rolls. Bring your arms towards your back and interlace your hands together and open your chest, open your heart energy, breathe. Stretch your legs from side to side. Lastly, lying down on a mat, pull your legs towards your chest and give yourself a nourishing hug.

✨ Do slow deep breathing

Take a few deep nourishing breaths, breathe in through your nose for 6, hold for 4 and exhale out for 4, through your mouth, releasing, letting go.

✨ Write in your journal or notepad, what you are grateful every night.

Write one thing you are grateful for and one thing that went well. Don’t think it – allow your heart to speak instead.

Enjoy your nighttime rituals with love.
